On September 29, 2018, The Africa Institute hosted Peter Adjaye, aka AJ Kwame, a Ghanaian-British conceptual sound artist, musicologist, composer, DJ-Producer, and musician.

He performed his DJ sets in Sharjah Art Foundation’s Mirage City Cinema, Al Mureijah Square as audiences grooved to his eclectic mixes of contemporary Afromusic. Adjaye’s unique sound installations have been exhibited at Tate Modern, Art Institute of Chicago, Somerset House, Whitechapel Gallery and more.
