The Africa Institute’s Director Salah M. Hassan was interviewed by globally recognized museum director and curator, Heidi Zuckerman on her podcast series titled, ‘Conversations About Art’, early this November 2022.

“Professor Hassan has curated a lot of exhibitions including one that has been very important to me and influenced my curatorial practice and some of the choices that I have made,” said Zuckerman as she opened the podcast.

He also highlights the third country-focused season for 2022-2023 dedicated to the Indian Ocean Rim. The ‘country-focused season’ is The Africa Institute’s flagship initiative exploring one African country or African diaspora community through a range of scholarly and public programs. The Indian Ocean season is also accompanied by Monsoon, an academic journal in collaboration with Duke University Press scheduled to be published in 2023.
