Before starting your application for graduate programs at Global Studies University (GSU), it is essential to gather all necessary documents and carefully follow the application guidelines. A complete and accurate submission will ensure that your application is processed smoothly. Below is a checklist of what to prepare, depending on whether you are applying from within the UAE or internationally.

The admission requirements for applicants to a Doctorate degree program are specified with regard to academic qualifications, CGPA, and English language proficiency. Here are the key requirements:

  1. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant fields (humanities, social sciences, and the arts) from an accredited institution, with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0 or its equivalent. Degrees with a program duration of less than three years will not be considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
  2. The university must be recognized by both the UAE Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Affairs Division and the institution to which you are applying
  3. If the bachelor’s or master’s degree was obtained outside the UAE, applicants must submit an equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Affairs Division to ensure the foreign degree is recognized within the UAE. Click here to refer to the Ministry of Education website for information on how to apply for a Certificate of Equivalency.
  4. Official transcripts and graduation certificates for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, duly attested by the UAE Ministry of Education, must be provided. If the bachelor’s or master’s degree and transcripts are not in English, a legal translation is required
  5. If the applicant obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a UAE university accredited by the Ministry of Education, it is necessary to provide the official transcripts and graduation certificates, duly attested by the UAE Ministry of Education
  6. Valid passport copy
  7. Emirates ID and visa (if applicable)
  8. One passport-sized photo
  9. Valid English proficiency score (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 91)
  10. CV/Resume
  11. Statement of Interest (1000 – 2000 words)
  12. Research Statement (2,000 – 2,500 words)
  13. Two writing samples
  14. Recommendation letters from two referees
  15. Application fee AED 365 (non-refundable)

When preparing your application to Global Studies University (GSU), ensure that all transcripts and test scores come from an official source, and use your name exactly as it appears on your passport or birth certificate. Before submitting, double-check that all documents are accurate and meet the specified requirements. Remember that all submitted materials become the property of GSU and will not be returned. Providing truthful information is essential, as the university reserves the right to withdraw admission offers or terminate student registration if any false statements or omissions are discovered.

Carefully review the application instructions to confirm that all required documents are complete and meet the university’s specifications. Missing or incomplete documents may affect the consideration of your application. Additionally, requirements can vary by program, so be sure to verify if there are specific requirements or additional documents needed for your chosen field of study.
